Massachusetts names Bethann Pepoli as acting CIO. Pepoli, who is COO of the states IT Division replace temporarily Peter Qiunn. Peter Quinn the alumnus CIO resigned at the end of december 2005. Also a spokesman for the commonwealth's governor accentuated that Massachusetts stick on the plan to switch to OpenDocument in 2007. Read the full article on news.com |

After so much discussion arround Massachusetts and it's plan to switch to the OpenDocument format which ends with the retirement of the CIO of state Massachusetts. Massachusetts stick with the plan to switch the OpenDocument format in January 2007. Read the full article on new.com |

This morning I have published the new releases of AODC and AODL. Now, AODC offer some new features e.g. "Batch" mode which let you convert more then one file at the same time, reference OpenDocument files with AODC or create a menu item "Convert with AODC" with the Explorer menu, ....
AODL offer full reading and writing support for Table of contents, now. ...

After the OpenOffice developer released the first patch for the OpenOffice 2.0 version in the december of the last year the first patch for Suns commercial StarOffice 8 is available. The patch could be downloaded here: StarOffice 8.1 patch . Next to several bugfixes this release should offer a better compatibility for Microsoft Office formats. OpenOffice and StarOffice are one of the few Office suites which offer full support for the OpenDocument format. |
